Slide background

Philly Pug & Short Nose Rescue, Inc. is a no-kill, 100% volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue of pugs and other select breeds of short-nosed dogs. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization.

July 17, 2019

For the past two years, intake of adoptable pugs has been extremely low.

Due to this situation, the Board of Directors have had several meetings and we have finally decided that Philly Pug & Short Nose Rescue will eventually be closing. What this means is we are permanently closing to intake. We will no longer have adoptions. For everyone that filled out an adoption application from January 1, 2019 to present, your $25 adoption application fee will be refunded to you. If for some reason you want to consider your adoption application fee a donation to the rescue please let us know by emailing

PPSNR will occasionally fundraise to continue to care for our pug angels as they will live the rest of their lives in their loving angel foster homes where they will continue to have the best life they deserve. We hope that you will continue to support us so we can give them their food, supplies (pee pads, supplements, etc.), vet care, and anything else they may need.

Everyone at PPSNR is forever grateful for your love and support over the past six years. We are very sad and heartbroken to see our rescue close. We close knowing that we have had many successful adoptions. We close knowing that we had a very successful Angel Program. Together we have made a difference in so many lives.

Thank you all so very much for your continued love and support of PPSNR over the past six years. Words cannot explain just how grateful we all are because without it we wouldn’t have been able to improve the lives of these precious pugs that have crossed our path.
