On July 4th Philly Pug & Short Nose Rescue celebrated not only Independence Day but the second anniversary of the founding of the rescue. It is through the generosity of our donors and the tireless efforts of our volunteers and coordinators that we have saved 70 dogs in that time.
July 6th is the second anniversary of my (Ming) rescue day. Yes, two days after the rescue was formed, the founders drove to Delaware to get from the shed I was living during the hotest days of the summer. I liked my foster (founder’s) home so much I convinced them to keep me and make me the spokes pug for PPSNR.
Here is a few things that have been going on at PPSNR
CASEY JONES UPDATE
June 12th, Casey Jones had her surgery to correct an elongated soft palate, her nares were enlarged to help her better breathe. During surgery, it was discovered that Casey has a collapsing larynx. Unfortunately, there is no medical treatment currently available for this condition. She needs to be keep cool and cannot get overly excited.
Thank you to everyone who donated to help PPSNR afford the surgery for Casey.

VINNY UPDATE
Vinny recently had his cataract checkup with Dr. Low at CARES. They are still not mature enough to be removed. We are close, but still a little short of raising the funds needed to pay for his surgery once the cataracts mature. We have raised a little over $3,500 of the estimated $5,500 cost of the operation on both of his eyes.
