2017 has gotten off to a little bit of a slow start. In January our forever fosters Samantha and John officially adopted our Angel pug Lottie.
In February four dogs came into Philly Pug & Short Nose Rescue, two pugs and two shih tzu’s. Ringo, a 10-year-old black male pug, Sammy, a 4-month-old fawn male pug, Cyrus, a 10-year-old black and white shih tzu and Duffy, a 6/7-year-old shih tzu.

So far in March Cedric and Sammy went to their forever homes. For those that don’t remember, Cedric is a black and white shih tzu that came in last October with one eye and issues with the remaining eye. Since then he was neutered, brought up-to-day on vaccinations. We tried to save his remaining eye, but in the end it was decided it would be best to have it removed. His adoptive dad had this to say about Cedric, “I just wanted to let you know all is well and that I could not be happier with Cedric. He seems happy with me too. His disability is far less of a challenge than I anticipated. He is a smart, energetic, happy and affectionate little dog.”

Cyrus came to us by way of an animal shelter. He was a sick little boy when he came to us. It was finally determined that he had advanced stomach cancer and was in pain. Not wanting to have Cyrus suffer the Board decided that it was best that we help him across the rainbow bridge. A very special thank you to his foster mom for taking such great care of him. Showing him love and compassion and most of all for being there as he started his journey across the bridge.
Duffy still needs to be neutered and then he will be ready for his forever home.
