There are so many ways you can help PPSNR fulfill its mission of rescuing the lives of as many Pugs, French Bulldogs, Boston Terriers, and English Bulldogs in need as possible.

The impact your donations have can sometimes seem absolutely miraculous. The average medical bill for each rescue taken in is $665, yet our adoption donations remain $200 to $500. Obviously, that does not even out. With rising medical costs and an increase in health issues that we see, it will only get worse. PPSNR will never deny any or our rescues proper pet medications and necessary medical care. We count on donations all year round to make a difference in the lives of each of our rescues, and our supporters have always come through.

If you want to help financially, you can virtual foster by clicking on the Angel you wish to help, or you help all of our dogs by clicking on the Helping Paw below.

If you prefer you can mail a check or money order donation to:
Philly Pug & Short Nose Rescue, Inc.
830 Welsh Road #147
Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006

All donations are tax-deductible as permitted under the IRC. Philly Pug & Short Nose Rescue Inc. is recognized as a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Remember, as an all-volunteer organization, every dollar we get goes directly to support our rescued dogs.

Angel Pug Darrell

Virtual Foster Darrell (Angel)

Meet Darrell the newest PPSNR Angel. Darrell is 15 years old.  With many thanks to a very special volunteer, we were able to pull him from the Atlantic County Shelter.

Darrell was taken immediately to be seen by our veterinary team at Ocean Heights Animal Hospital. We ran a full panel of blood work.  He is missing patches of fur, he is partially blind and is not neutered.  Darrell has a heart murmur and will be getting X-rays. Also, his anal glands are infected. Not sure if we can neuter him since he is 15; but we will worry about that later.

Darrell is not available for adoption and will remain with PPSNR as part of the Angel Program. You can help with Winnie’s annual medical care by becoming a Virtual Foster below.

Welcome to the good life, Darrell. PPSNR promises to take excellent care of you.

Virtual Foster Selena (Angel)

Selena is a super sweet 13-year old who is pretty independent but she likes knowing her humans and pug siblings are around.

Miss Selena has an auto-immune disease. What this means is that she cannot be vaccinated (except for Rabies – each state requires that vaccination). She cannot go to dog parks, dog events or socialize with other dogs. She can go from perfectly healthy to being very sick quickly because her immune system is compromised.

Selena is also not potty trained, We are going to try out best to work on that and get her on a regular potty routine.

With her health issues in mind, Selena has joined the PPSNR Angel Program.

Selena will be going to Family Pet Clinic for acupuncture treatments and various Chinese Herbs to help her immune system. Selena will need this care for the rest of her life.

We will do everything we can to make sure Selena’s “golden years” are luxurious ones. But of course, we cannot do this without your help.

Please consider becoming a virtual foster for Selena to provide for her ongoing care.

Virtual Foster Winnie (Angel)

Meet Winnie fka Mary Poppins.

She was dumped in a shelter in Atlantic County NJ.

She was malnourished and breed a few times.  Her vulva is huge and people mistake her for a male pug. She can barely walk and wag her tail.

With proper diet, her mobility has improved.  She tested positive for Lyme disease, has been spayed and had two MCT’s removed (with clean margins).

Winnie also needs help expressing her bladder. She had a couple of seizures and was taken to the neurologist. The doctor put her on an anti-seizure medication and has not had a seizure since.

Winnie is not available for adoption and will remain with PPSNR as part of the Angel Program. You can help with Winnie’s annual medical care by becoming a Virtual Foster below.
